Wisconsin Discretionary Grant Program

Program Description: The Talent Incentive Program Grant provides grant assistance to the most needy and educationally disadvantaged resident students attending eligible colleges and universities in the State of Wisconsin. The grant is designed to:

* improve the opportunity for access, retention, and graduation
* to lessen the burden of student debt

Who is Eligible to Apply: There are established TIP criteria that determine an individual applicant's eligibility for the grant, be: WI resident, First time college freshman and meet one Need and one Disadvantaged student criteria.. Continuing TIP awards are available for students who have received TIP if they have successfully completed their first year at a postsecondary institution. Enrollment status requirement is at least half-time. Only Wisconsin colleges (UW system, public and private WI colleges, and WI Technical Colleges) are eligible and applicants must be WI residents.

Amount of Awards and Funds Available: Initial awards to Wisconsin residents enrolled as first-time freshman students range from $600 to $1,800 per year and are awarded on a first come first served basis until funds are depleted. Continuing awards are available for students who have recived TIP, are enrolled consecutive terms, and continue to show financial need. Also it should be first come, first served basis. Eligibility cannot exceed ten semesters.
