Loyola University in the Big Easy seeks a provost

Dear James,

We would be grateful for your nominations regarding a search for the provost of Loyola University New Orleans.

Serving as both the University’s chief academic officer and its second ranking officer, the provost leads University-wide strategic planning, chairs the University Budget Committee, and is responsible for leadership and oversight of the University’s academic program and intellectual life. Loyola is entering its centennial year, nearing completion of its current strategic plan and on the threshold of developing a new one, making the timing ideal for a new chief academic officer to use this wide sphere of responsibility and influence to make a direct, personal impact on the future of this exceptional institution.

A selective university located in New Orleans’ historic Uptown, Loyola University New Orleans is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the country and one of the largest Catholic universities in the South. The University enrolls approximately 5,000 students in its five colleges: Humanities and Natural Sciences, Business, Law, Music and Fine Arts, and Social Sciences. Loyola’s faculty members have been recognized nationally and internationally by the Pulitzer Committee and numerous other professional and scholarly associations and consistently ranks in the top 10 among regional universities in the South as reported by U.S. News and World Report. Additional information may be found on the University’s website at www.loyno.edu.
