Baker U. seeks a VPAA

Dear Dr. Castagnera:

Baker University (Baldwin City, KS) is seeking nominations for the position of Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). I am writing now to notify you of this position with the hopes that you might know of someone who would be well qualified.

Baker University is a multi-faceted, private liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The oldest four-year institution of higher education in the state of Kansas, Baker educates nearly 4,000 traditional and non-traditional students. Anchored by the CAS in historic Baldwin City, the institution’s reach has extended throughout the state and into neighboring Missouri and Nebraska through undergraduate and graduate programs offered within its Schools of Education, Nursing and Professional and Graduate Studies. Baker’s growth is indicative of an institution that is on the move and responsive to evolving enrollment trends yet steadfast in its commitment to offering a fine education in the liberal arts tradition.
The EVP and Dean will partner with a visionary and energetic president and will share in the opportunity to lead Baker University to even greater distinction. Experience with strategic planning and implementation, curricular innovation, faculty support and development, enrollment planning and retention, and resource enhancement will be important. Leadership and communication skills that inspire confidence, build community and optimize the potential of all Baker constituencies will also be vital.
