Can we really blame WVU? I'll bet the coal industry donates to the institution big time. Furthermore, no matter what anyone says about global warming, fossil fuels will be with us for a long, long time to come. Coal from West Virginia and natural gas from Pennsylvania shale will be among the most important of these. And if we want any semblance of energy self-sufficiency and economic prosperity, we had better embrace them both.
At least that's the view of this son of a Pennsylvania coal miner.
