Obama campaign closing in on one million grass-roots donors

Friend --

I have this counter page pulled up on my laptop, and I can't step away. Right now, we're at 993,286 grassroots donors -- and we're going hit a million very soon if folks like you keep chipping in.

You're a big part of what got us here. Thank you.

Now can you help us hit a million by promising to match a first-time donor?

Donate today -- and inspire someone to join the million

Just pick the amount you can donate, and we'll match you with a grassroots supporter who hasn't given yet.

Your pledge will inspire them to donate -- and their matching donation doubles your impact. You can even leave them a note about why you think they should give.

A million donors at this point is a pretty extraordinary achievement. Last campaign, it took more than a year to get to this milestone.

Think back to that -- at the time we hit 1 million in 2008, we'd already had 23 debates. It was after the Iowa caucuses, after the New Hampshire primary, after the more than 20 states that had primaries on Super Tuesday. Now we're going to hit that number just over six months in -- and three months before Iowa even caucuses.

It's a real testament to the power of what people can do when they build a movement the old-fashioned way, person by person, with everyone chipping in what they can, when they can.

And it's going to have some big implications for the next year as we keep building the infrastructure that will help us win. There's a lot more work to be done, but this puts us in the strongest possible position.

Pledge to match a first-time donor today -- then watch the counter as we hit 1 million together:
