A private investigators course on offer in New Jersey

Greetings. At today's meeting of NJ Criminal Justice Educators, I was encouraged to send you the announcement of a Private Investigators' course. This is designed for those who are interested in a career in the field as well as for practicing PI's who want to update their knowledge and skills.

Please pass this on to anyone you know, and to current and former students who might be interested.

Thank you.

New Jersey Private Investigator Course
Ocean County College
October 24 - 28, 2011

Ocean County College is offering the first ever Private Investigator Course in the State of New Jersey. This exciting new course is perfect for all individuals who wish to begin a career as a Private Investigator. Individuals who are just curious about the work, and presently licensed private investigators/detectives who wish to develop familiarity with skip tracing, legal requirements pertaining to private investigators and the latest surveillance equipment and techniques. Taught by subject matter experts, other topics include courtroom testimony, legal issues, evidence collection, and investigative techniques. Even those who are former police officers have had limited training in some of these areas. Presently licensed Private Investigators will expand their potential by mastering the most current skills and information offered in this course.
Any qualified citizen can be licensed, providing they complete the application designed by New Jersey State Police and meet the legal requirements contained in NJAC 15:55-1.1 relating to personal background and moral character. The applicant for a license must have 5 years’ experience as either a police officer or in conducting investigations. No active law enforcement officer may be licensed. Completion of this course does not guarantee a license, which is at the discretion of the New Jersey State Police, but may be a positive factor in the license application process.
The five-day course will be held at the Ocean County College, College Drive, Toms River, NJ. Classes will be held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. The dress code for this class is business casual. Completion of the course requires attendance at all classes. Tuition for this program is $439, which includes all materials.
To register, contact Ocean County College at 732.255.0400. For further information or with any questions, please contact Career Development Institute at 732-821-6997 or visit our website at www.cditraining.org.
