Is your glass half full or half empty?

A new study indicates that humans are more likely to be optimists than pessimists. Not only that... our minds tend to retain positive data and ignore negative information.

But NPR's Cokie Roberts finds no optimists in the hunt for the presidency at present. Obama, she says, is as big a gloom-and-doomer as was Jimmy Carter prior to his defeat by Ronald Reagan in 1980. And she sees no Reaganesque optimists on the Republican side of the race, either.
