Morning Session
In
order to make sound investment decisions, business leaders must
consider current and prospective economic conditions at the national and
international levels. The purpose of this program is to provide
participants with an introduction to key economic indicators that
influence currency exchange rates, international capital flows,
financial asset values and project viability. In addition, we will
provide a review of economists' consensus expectations for 2014.
Afternoon Session
The
afternoon session integrates signals from the macroeconomic environment
with the major areas of strategy in technology and innovation
management. From a manager's perspective, we cover the seminal research
in innovation related to geography, organizational design, competitive
dynamics and strategies for high-tech industries. More specifically,
this course provides attorneys who are interested in patents and
intellectual property rights with an in-depth review of innovation
management. It also exposes CPAs to the underlying drivers of
intangible asset valuation, specifically knowledge-based intangibles in
high-tech industries.
Course Objectives
-
Review the fundamental characteristics of the major economic indicators
followed by company decision-makers, advisors, and investors;
- Analyze the impact of economic indicators on firm value and projects;
- Discuss technology and innovation management issues given the current economic climate.
