I have to say that it's hard for me to understand the relationship between Sandusky's sex abuse crimes and Penn State's win-loss record. The cause-effect relationship between, say, Armstrong's doping and his Grand Priz victories clearly justifies stripping the bicycler of his titles and trophies. The closest connection I've heard between Sandusky's crimes and Penn State's football record is that, as a defensive coach, the convicted child molester may have contributed to those wins. That connection seems far too tenuous to me to justify stripping PSU of its football record during the Sandusky and/or Paterno years. A lot of innocent players and fans were punished for crimes by Sandusky and those who covered for him. It simply makes no sense to me.
That being said, it's easy to believe the Governor's allegations of nefarious motives on the part of the NCAA.
