The bottom line is: you need to be involved. Using the school as a babysitting service, so that you can pursue a career doesn't do it. Yeh, we all need money, and two-income families are often a necessity, too. But if you're disengaged from what's going on in school, you are being a bad parent. And no amount of job and career duties excuses that.
