Scientists intend to resume testing on bird-flu virus.  The catch is that they have to manipulate the bug, which now only attacks birds, into a human-attacking variety in order to effectively seek a cure.  The risk is that the germs will escape the lab and start the pandemic the scientists fear... a perfect example of a self-fulfilling prophecy that could have devastating consequences worldwide.  Let's hope these blokes know what they're doing!
