The SEIU on Obamacare and women's health

Jim,

Starting today, being a woman just got easier.

Thanks to Obamacare, most health insurance plans will be required to cover birth control and other women’s preventive services like mammograms, pap smears and well-woman yearly exams with no co-pay. This is a huge step forward for women’s health in our country.

Let others know. Share this image and spread some health.

We’re fighting hard for equal pay and equal benefits. And now our hard work is paying off. This expansion of preventive coverage will bring real economic relief and peace of mind to the millions of families who, prior to the law, had nowhere to turn.

Now instead of women weighing the costs of their health against the cost of groceries and gas, they will be able to get the healthcare they need and retain more of their families’ hard-earned pay.

Help those you care about live healthier lives by spreading the word.

Thanks to the healthcare law, no woman will be denied access to birth control because of where she works. Opportunities like these don’t come along often. So when they do, we have to let others know so that they start using these new benefits.

We can now take better care of ourselves and our families.

Share the news - and remember to thank Obamacare when you do!

In health,

Dian Palmer, RN
Chair, National Nurse Alliance of SEIU Healthcare
