The Decline of California's Higher Ed System

California's public university system was once the envy of the nation and the world.  Under the leadership of Chancellor Clark Kerr, whom graced the cover of TIME magazine and was looked to as the industry's top guru, the system was the world-beater.  Today, reports the Chronicle of Higher Education rising demand and plummeting funding combine to drag the system down from its once lofty perch.

Higher Education is one of the areas where the US remains number one in the global marketplace.  Why our leaders seem intent on dismantling this great achievement is a mystery to me.
