The Middle East and Al Qaeda remain major security threats

Besides the resurgence of the Taliban there (see my earlier posting today), Syria and Iran are major concerns for many pundits.

Additionally, a strong argument has been made that the Great Recession was in fact --- at least in part --- the second Jihadist attack on the American financial industry during the first decade of this century.
