UPPER DARBY — It may have been just lunch, but the message Upper Darby officials were trying to send was much larger.
“We’re here to show the world we’re not afraid to eat here,” said township Chief Administrative Officer Thomas Judge Jr. as he walked into Verona Pizza at 8917 West Chester Pike Tuesday.
Police say Verona and Uncle Nick’s Pizzeria, 9000 West Chester Pike, were targeted by Nikolas Galiatsatos, the owner of Nina Bella’s Pizzeria, located two blocks away at 8445 West Chester Pike.
Galiatsatos, 47, of 1000 Conestoga Road, Bryn Mawr, was charged with criminal mischief, harassment, disorderly conduct and cruelty to animals for allegedly putting three mice in the ceiling of a bathroom at Verona, and six mice in a trash can at Uncle Nick’s.
