Lone Star College–University Park is seeking an innovative thinker and doer for the position of Vice President, Instruction & Student Services (#1972).
The Lone Star College System (LSCS) is one of the fastest growing community college systems in Texas. We are the largest institution of higher education in the Houston area and second largest community college in the state, serving over 85,000 credit and continuing education students each semester. The Vice President of Instruction and Student Services will serve as the Chief Academic and Student Services Officer for the newest, most innovative campus of the Lone Star College System. The Vice President will oversee instructional departments, student services, and student development under the direction of the campus Chief Executive Officer. The Vice President will also provide leadership for improving student success through student services and student development and through collaboration with the campus Chief Executive and instructional leaders.
Position Summary:
Promotes an environment supportive of the college and system mission, its vision and strategic plan, student success, student centered services, and teaching excellence.
Provides effective, creative, and energetic leadership by promoting, supporting and evaluating innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Ensures an inclusive decision-making process through shared governance across the college community.
Provides leadership for:
· Instructional programs – credit transfer and workforce education
· Faculty initiatives and professional development
· Academic support and extended learning services
· Accreditation compliance
· Dual credit/school partnerships
· Continuing Education/Workforce and Leisure programs and emerging workforce needs
· Institutional effectiveness and alternative delivery methods
· Acquiring and allocating funding and resources
· Budgeting and planning

Requirements:
A Master's degree or higher; an earned doctorate is preferred.
At least 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in student development with directly related experience in supervision of a wide range of student development functions.
At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in higher education.
Demonstrated experience in acquiring external funding and resources.
