Private-Sector College Association will be seeking a new CEO

WASHINGTON, DC – June 17, 2011 – The Board of Directors of the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) announced today that Harris N. Miller, CEO and President for the past four years, has decided to resign, effective today, June 17, 2011.
"I've taken APSCU and this incredibly important sector of higher education which effectively serves so many of those otherwise excluded from climbing the economic ladder to new levels," said Miller. "I still have other career interests that I want to pursue, and this is the perfect time, given all we have accomplished in the last year, to step aside. I look forward to the next challenge, and feel I'm leaving APSCU in a perfect position to continue to change the future of higher education in America."
"Miller's leadership of APSCU on behalf of the staff and Board of Directors, members of APSCU and more importantly the students and graduates served by the member institutions is nothing short of commendable," said Arthur Keiser, Ph.D., Chairman of the APSCU Board of Directors. "His strategic priorities and vision have led the association through some very critical times."

Brian Moran, APSCU’s Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel, will serve as interim President of the association.
Before joining APSCU, Miller served as a president of both the Information Technology Association of America and the World Information Technology and Services Alliance. Additionally, he has extensive work experience in the United States House of Representatives and Senate.
APSCU will explore a full range of replacements for Miller by establishing a search committee to seek an equally committed advocate for private sector colleges and universities and the millions of students they serve.
