As we move into a new month, I wanted to share with you information on an exciting new course being offered by McDevitt & Kline, LLC during the month of June, 2011!

In the final semester of most MBA programs, students are required to take an "MBA capstone" course, which integrates the understanding from all the key functional areas in business (accounting, finance, economics, marketing, and management). Consistent with this tradition, we have designed one of our most exciting course offerings yet: "MBA in a Day". In this course, William Kline, CFA will introduce frameworks and principles which serve as a foundation for business decision-making. Harvard Business School case studies will be utilized to illustrate the following key managerial topics: Sustainable Competitive Advantage, Deal Synergies, Transaction Cost Economics, Dynamic Capabilities, Porter's Five Forces, and Value Chain Analysis.

William A. Kline is a Ph.D. candidate and lecturer at the Fox School of Business at Temple University. In the spring of 2011 he received the Award for Excellence in Teaching by a Doctoral Student in the Business Administration Program at the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University, as well as the Dean's Award for Faculty Excellence at the Graduate School of Business of Fordham University. Starting in the fall of 2011, he will be a full-time faculty member at Fordham University. He is currently working on his dissertation, which is related to executive compensation, corporate governance, and managerial decision-making. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society, the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the Academy of Management.

This course will be held at the Temple University, Center City Philadelphia campus on June 24th, 2011 and at the Temple University Fort Washington campus on June 25th, 2011. This program is also available as a live webcast!
