Ohio joins the rush to retract union rights

March 31, 2011, 8:20 pm

Gov. John R. Kasich of Ohio signed into law tonight the controversial Senate Bill 5, which makes most public-college professors ineligible for union representation and sharply limits the collective-bargaining rights of other state employees. If they gather enough signatures over the next 90 days to put the issue on the ballot, the law will be on hold until after the election.
