You can't make this stuff up: Teen fined for bleeding on city sidewalk

If you ever find yourself in Peoria, Arizona, be sure not to bleed in public. Taylor Petz learned the hard way–his family was billed more than $2,000 for a few drops of his blood.

According to 3 On Your Side, Petz, a Peoria teenager, accidentally stabbed himself in the leg with a steak knife. While waiting for an ambulance to arrive at his home, Taylor went outside. He didn’t even need stitches, but several small drops of blood from his wound fell to the street and sidewalk. Those tiny drops landed the Petz family a $2,028.58 bill from the city. Incredibly, it turns out the city prosecutor’s office hired a bio-hazard crew from Tucson, more than two hours away, to clean up the blood. More...
