We’ve got a problem.
The Senate just got the 60 votes it needs to move forward on an extension to unemployment benefits -- BUT it still has to get past Boehner’s Tea Party House.
If Boehner and his House have their way, 1.3 million Americans will be left out in the cold after losing their jobs through no fault of their own during the biggest recession since the Great Depression. Meanwhile, Big Oil and billionaires get more tax breaks. That is simply wrong.
We need to stand with President Obama and put the pressure on House Republicans to do the right thing for middle class families across the country.

Despite what Republicans might be saying, the long-term unemployed are not lazy. They’re our friends and neighbors who were crushed by the Great Recession and are just trying to get back on their feet. And they will -- if House Republicans do the right thing and extend unemployment insurance.
As President Obama put it at the White House today, “they're not looking for pity, they just want a shot” and unemployment insurance helps them get there.
