Chip Wood says we're losing our freedom

I don't totally agree.  I'm just about finished with a book about the Roberts Court.  And while the SCOTUS has more pro-corporations than any prior court of the past 60 years (61% favorable rulings for corporations as against 40+% in the Renquist era, for instance), CJ Roberts and colleagues have been fairly strong on rights of the accused, Bush Administration excesses in the War on Terror, and especially First Amendment Rights (albeit the Citizens United case can be viewed as a big plum for corporations rather than as an affirmation of Free Speech).

Evidence in a recent poll indicates that Americans are now more interested in civil liberties than national security, an indications of the the arguable success of the so-called War on Terror, as well as that the pendulum is finally swinging back from the extreme pro-national security position it took after 9/11.
