The SEIU wants to start a conversation about advancing women and families

SEIU
Dear James,
Hundreds of thousands of strong women are united in SEIU. Together, we’ve taken on pay equity, healthcare issues, immigration reform and social justice issues that impact all Americans.
On Jan. 29, you’re invited to join an unprecedented national conversation about issues and changes that will advance income equality and economic security for women and families in America. You'll hear from, and ask questions of, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, fair pay activist Lilly Ledbetter, other working women and champions in Congress. Actor Cynthia Nixon will be moderating the conversation.
A national tele-town hall event on fair pay, paid leave and access to child care
Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. ET
You'll participate from your own phone — there are no numbers to dial, we’ll call you to connect to the event!
American women are still paid only 77 cents for every dollar paid to men, nine out of 10 American workers don’t have paid family leave and nearly 40 million don’t have a single paid sick day. Plus — there is a critical need for affordable, quality child care in this country and a growing demand for home care that will impact us all.
Together, we can change things for the better. Let’s make 2014 a year focused on advancing women and families in America.
In solidarity,
Alesa Mackool, Courtney-Rose Dantus and Molly O'Gorman
