Bill Gates says there will be almost no poor countries by 2035

Bill Gates is one of the richest people on earth.  And he has given a lot of his fortune to the poor.  My hat is off to him for both of these achievements.

But (yeh, you saw it coming, right?) Bill Gates with all due respect has his head up his you-know-what.

Mr. Gates is among the 85 richest people on earth, who have the same amount of wealth as the 3.5 billion least wealthy… that is, the bottom half of the world's population.

Furthermore, I feel in my guts and my bones with mammalian-instictual certainty that the jobless recovery of the post-Great Recession years signals a sea change.  Technology --- the technology that made Mr. Gates among the richest on earth --- is destroying more jobs than it's creating.  And this will continue.

Will these 85 titans voluntary share?  Well, Mr. Gates has.  What of the others?  I seriously doubt it.  So how does his Pollyanna prediction come to pass?
