A protest in Utah against Wal-Mart (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
Hey James,
This Black Friday, Nov. 29, the biggest shopping day of the year,
Walmart workers will be holding protests to call on Walmart pay a real
wage and to stop retaliating against workers who speak out.
Will you support them?
Last year, so many people attended these strike events across the
country that Walmart's poor treatment of workers became part of the
national conversation. It's important that we keep these workers and
their fight in the spotlight.
Companies across the U.S. have followed Walmart’s example, creating
low-pay, low-security jobs. We have all seen our friends, family and
neighbors struggle as they are forced to take jobs they know can’t cover
their bills. As Americans, we’re all paying the price for the Walmart
economy.
We want to make sure you have everything you need to help workers
challenge Walmart this Black Friday. Last year, some of you told us that
you wish we had provided more support for your events. We heard you,
and we're going to make sure you get the support you need at these
trainings.
Hope to see you soon!
In solidarity,
Alesa Mackool

P.S. If you can't make a training, register here to do a phone call training on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 EDT.
