Veterans Day is a time for reflection, thanks, and action

Dear Veterans, Students, and Supporters,
Today,
as our nation pauses to reflect upon the service and sacrifice of our
military veterans, I am pleased to announce SVA's latest investment in
the future success of these men and women: the VetCenter Initiative.
In
collaboration with The Home Depot, SVA will award $100,000 to chapters
across the country to aid them in renovating or constructing their own
veteran space on campus. SVA, the American Council on Education, and
academic institutions across the nation have recognized that a
dependable, supportive on-campus environment is essential to a
successful transition from battlefield to classroom. A dedicated space
for veterans fosters camaraderie, trust and support in an academic
environment.
It
is often said that this latest generation of veterans is the next
greatest generation; they are poised to be so, and the VetCenter
Initiative will ensure that they have the tools and resources to realize
that potential and achieve success.
To
the veterans across the country, I want to say thank you on behalf of
the SVA team. Your service to our nation will never be forgotten, and
your continued commitment to the American values of sacrifice,
selflessness, and dedication inspire the work that we do. On Veterans
Day and everyday, all of us at SVA celebrate your immeasurable
contribution to our nation and stand ready to support student veterans
in accomplishing their next mission: graduation.
Happy Veterans Day!
Respectfully, D. Wayne Robinson Executive Director Student Veterans of America |
