Romney's tax plan benefits his rich friends, penalizes the middle class

According to analysis in yesterday's Tampa Bay Times, a taxpayer earning a million bucks a year would save $87,000.  Meanwhile:

Jim --

According to independent tax experts, Mitt Romney's $5 trillion tax plan would force an average $2,000 tax hike on middle-class families with children in order to pay for his budget-busting tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.

President Obama has a different approach. He has a plan that extends middle class tax cuts, and asks the wealthy to pay a little more. It's part of a balanced plan to cut more than $4 trillion from the deficit.

Our new online tax calculator lets you find out how you'd be affected by each candidate's tax plan, and puts the choice in this election in stark terms. Check it out, and after you've used it, share it with your friends and family:

Romney says he'll pay for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires by closing tax deductions and other tax benefits. But he's not talking about loopholes like the ones that benefit the wealthiest Americans, like himself. He's talking about taxing the health insurance people get from their employers, and eliminating the deduction that helps families pay off their mortgage.

Enter your annual income in our tax calculator, see exactly how each tax plan would affect you, and be sure to let others know about it:
