The deadline to submit a proposal for a presentation and/or workshop for the 18th Annual Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning is June 4.
The theme of this year’s conference is "At a Crossroads: Online Education in a Complex World." MIT and Harvard recently announced a new partnership to offer free online courses through edX. Princeton, Stanford, Penn and Michigan are making similar plans through Coursera. Changes in the world of online learning occur on a daily basis. Where is it all headed? Our keynote speaker for 2012 is Sebastian Thrun, well known as the founder of Google X (you know - cars that drive themselves, Google glasses, other world-changing projects). Sebastian is also the Stanford Professor who co-taught an open, online, Artificial Intelligence course to more than 160,000 students. He has now started a new higher-education model through Udacity, which is striving to bring free college courses to the world. Plan to join Sebastian as a presenter at this year’s conf! erence!
