Attention - DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 8, 2012
On behalf of the Garden State Council – SHRM, we wish to thank all of our Speakers for making the 2011 Annual Conference & Expo a wonderful success!
We are busy preparing for our 2012 Annual Conference & Expo and building upon the successes of the past to make this year the best Conference & Expo yet!
Our theme for the 2012 Conference is: “HR’s Voice in Action” which is described below and on our home page at: www.gscshrm.org
“HR’s Voice in Action” - As HR professionals, we often talk about our Mission, Vision and “having our voices heard.” HR has never been more important than it is now, helping our senior executives, managers, and staff through these challenging times. Last year’s conference focused on our vision for the current and future state of HR. This October, we will take HR to the next step by exploring innovative programs to hone our skills and learn new ways to collaborate and influence our business partners with HR’s voice.
We invite you to join us in Atlantic City, NJ for the 21st Annual GSC-SHRM State Conference and Expo from October 21st through October 23rd. We will offer 40+ knowledge sessions over 2 ½ days, exposure to 70+ top Human Resources service providers as well as opportunities to network and learn from each other.
Our conference is an opportunity for you to contribute to the knowledge, experience and synergies needed to meet our changing realities by providing over 40 point-on sessions presented by industry leaders, recognized practitioners and subject matter experts like yourself.
As a conference presenter you will receive free registration and you may qualify for recertification credits through HRCI!
If you would like to present your ideas and insights this October 21st and 22nd, we would love to hear them! Please submit your proposal for a session in one of the subject tracks listed below via the following link:
Employment Law and Legislation:

We look for contributors who are willing to share their expertise WITHOUT expectation of payment in the spirit of networking and enhancing the HR profession.
PROPOSAL REVIEW: Members of the Programs Selection Committee will review all complete proposals. We have a strong preference for single speaker presentations. Final selections will be made by the conference program organizers from those proposals accepted. Notification of acceptance will be sent no later than June 30, 2012.
The Selection Process: We strive to offer a balanced program of educational sessions by selecting proposals that best fit within the framework of the conference. We use the following evaluation criteria:
Practical Application: Sessions conducted by practitioners that include practical, immediately applicable work tools will be given preference. The conference committee seeks presentations that will provide our attendees with information that will improve their effectiveness on the job.
Proven Speaking Ability: The conference committee seeks experienced presenters with proven speaking ability. Those with a track record of speaking and performing well at large conferences will be given preference.
Audience Engagement: The format allows for exchanges among audience members and between audience members and the presenter.
Clarity of Presentation: The session description effectively matches the topic and session outline.
We expect presenters to:
- meet all deadlines;
- retain the session content, audio/visual needs as originally submitted;
- not add a co-presenter or change the identity or number of presenters without permission;
- provide high-quality handouts by the date and in the format requested;
