Washington does something right on immigration

The Obama administration has announced lowering the visa hurdles for entrepreneurs, who want to come to the US, establish businesses and create jobs. This is a smart move. The over all immigration picture is what my old dad would have called a dog's breakfast: a national policy that admits too many of the wrong types and not enough of the right ones; porous borders (Mexicans are now sailing up the California coast and coming ashore on beaches like so many commandoes); state and local laws getting into the act, requiring the courts to sort out the constitutional from the unconstitutional local efforts. This move cuts through all the chaff and does one right thing... and at a time when the American economy is anemic and the jobless rate is stuck at 9+%.
