Subject: Calling all Baby Boomers to the Inaugural Transitions Conference

“A conference for adults 50+ as we seek to engage our minds, and increase our understanding of issues of living in this next chapter of our lives. It will provide opportunities to experience a shared community, an awareness of resources, and the possibility to discover new insights and skills.”

Bucks County Community College is excited to inform you that it will host the Inaugural Transitions Conference – Positive Living for Boomers, scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. This educational conference seeks to inform, share, learn from and connect with the local community in Bucks County. We hope to provide information to adults age 50+ on a variety of topics relating to your needs and the needs of your parents, in life and career. Over 35 informative workshops will be provided during this daylong event, each addressing a topic of interest and concern to Baby Boomers , such as:

Future living arrangements
Career Guidance for those seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce
Financial and legal considerations
Health and wellness
And much more…

You will also have the opportunity to attend our Resource Fair, representing a wide variety of local service organizations and businesses that will provide information about services and resources available to our community.

Keynote Speaker; Dick Goldberg

Dick Goldberg has been Director of Coming of Age, Greater Philadelphia's initiative to promote age 50+ civic engagement, since 2004. He epitomizes the baby boomer exploring and pursuing a passion in midlife; and in his case - encouraging contemporaries to connect and contribute to their communities.

Coming of Age is a partnership of the Temple University Center for Intergenerational Learning, Philadelphia PBS station WHYY, AARP Pennsylvania, and the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Under Dick's leadership, the initiative has expanded from a local venture to one that is now being replicated nationally.
