This from NPR today:
Where in the world is WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange?
London's The Independent says it has been told by sources from inside Scotland Yard that he is in the United Kingdom:
"The 39-year-old Australian supplied the (London) Metropolitan Police with contact details upon arriving in the U.K. in October. Police sources confirmed that they have a telephone number for Mr Assange and are fully aware of where he is staying."
As we reported Wednesday, Swedish authorities have issued an arrest warrant (and Interpol has put out a global alert) for Assange. He's wanted for more questioning about an alleged rape. Assange has denied any wrong-doing.
My prediction: this story is only going to get weirder and weirder. Another, closely related question: Is it possible for anyone --- especially someone as notorious as this guy --- to hide in our Internet world? Well, I guess Osama bin Laden has done it. Can Assange? I am betting "no."
