Dear Supporter,
It's been one year since the horrific tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT unnecessarily took the lives of 20 children and six educators.  And just this past week we witnessed yet another shooting at a school in Colorado.  Disturbingly, there have been more state level laws passed during this time that loosen controls on guns than there have been that tighten them.  And, nothing has been done by Congress at the Federal level.
The Peace Alliance believes a different, positive, and certainly, sensible approach to protecting our kids is appropriate.  A great new petition has been posted in MoveOn in remembrance of the Dec. 14th anniversary that gives us all an opportunity to tell policy makers how we feel -- to be delivered to U.S. House & Senate and President Obama.
The petition reads: "We believe that teaching nonviolent communication at every grade level in our schools will prevent the violent killing that is increasingly prevalent in our schools and society. We ask that our governmental leaders make this education mandatory in our nation's schools, beginning at the earliest grades and continuing through graduation from high school."
We couldn't agree more how important this could be.  Please click on the attached site and show your support.
In the hope for a less violent society,
Bob Baskin
