This isn’t the type of breaking news alert you ever want to see, but it just happened.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker just said he plans to sign a bill forcing women who are seeking an abortion to undergo an invasive and medically-unnecessary ultrasound procedure.
This is an outrageous overreach on the part of Walker and his Tea Party allies, who will stop at nothing to put their radical ideology between a woman and her doctor.
Governor Walker has yet to sign the bill, so let’s tell him what we think about this anti-woman power play.
Tell Governor Walker not to sign the forced ultrasounds bill.
If Walker signs the bill, he’ll join a not-so-elite group of Republican governors who are rolling back the clock on women’s rights and putting the government in charge of a woman’s body.
These Republican governors say they want to create jobs, but when they get into office they push a radical social agenda that divides people. We’re seeing that in Pennsylvania, in Virginia, and in other states across the map.
The only way to stop them is to call them out and then support those who will focus on the economy, not on a woman’s reproductive system.
Sign the petition demanding that Governor Walker veto forced ultrasounds.
