It has ever been so... people who mistakenly believe that their cause is greater than the health of the Republic... that it justifies any tactics, no matter how radical or anti-democratic or destructive.
Whether the Confederacy or Joe McCarthy or radical animal-rights activists or Al Qaeda, the American people and their leaders have usually come to their senses and acted within the law to oppose and end the "terrorism."
President Obama has said that between now and year end it is possible to address immigration reform, the farm bill and other pressing business. Let's hope the majority of Congressmen share his resolve to do so. The American people and world opinion both need to see this happen.
