Why is this writer surprised? The Tealiban is every bit as radical as the Taliban and Al Qaeda. I have no doubt they'd be dragging people into ballparks and chopping off their heads and hands, if the law allowed them to do it.
They have demonstrated their willingness to destroy our democracy for their narrow fanatical causes. The Nazis burned the Reichstag. I have little doubt some of these extremists would gladly burn the capitol if they thought it would bring the government to a standstill.
The Germans failed to recognize the Nazi threat in the thirties until it was too late. Let's not make the same mistake.
