Today, 25% of voters are members of minority groups. Before this century is half over, minorities will comprise the new majority. This may very well be the last presidential election in which the GOP can win with only a minuscule share of the minority vote, relying almost entirely on whites to win.
Voter-ID laws, union busting, and the Big Lie are needed to minimize minority voting while mobilizing those middle and blue collar whites who are willing to believe that President Obama wants to sell them out to poor minorities. This is a strategy that may never work again, due to the changing demographics of this country.
