Dear Reader,
With developments in the Middle East suggesting things are spiraling out of control, and Israel pressing the Obama administration to make a final decision about an attack on Iran, many believe we are on the precipice of a major conflagration.
The top commander of Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard warns “nothing will remain” of Israel if it takes military action against Iran for its controversial nuclear program.
Meanwhile an al-Qaida group in North Africa called the murder of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya a “gift” and encouraged more protests, urging supporters “to kill their (American) ambassadors and representatives or to expel them to cleanse our land.”
And as the protests continue, the United States and its allies have launched a major naval exercise in the Persian Gulf.
All this as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tells the U.S. media that Iran is close to being able to build a nuclear bomb, fueling talk of an Israeli airstrike and putting tremendous pressure on the U.S.
What’s next?
Recently, LIGNET, the global intelligence and forecasting service, assembled a special security briefing with several of the most informed Mideast experts — people who not only know the region, but speak with the top officials in these nations and in the highest levels of the U.S. government.
The LIGNET panel briefing is led by former CIA Director General Michael Hayden. Gen. Hayden provides a sober assessment of the critical state of affairs, and says the situation, particularly in Iran, is getting “scarier.”
Joining Gen. Hayden for the private intelligence forum are Arnaud de Borchgrave, director of the Transnational Threats program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS); former CIA senior analyst and LIGNET managing editor Fred Fleitz; and Thomas Sanderson, a renowned Mideast expert and senior fellow with CSIS.
One of the experts is even warning that an Iran attack could easily cause oil prices to spike to $400 to $500 a barrel. Another says neither the U.S. nor Israel is prepared for Iran’s “asymmetrical retaliation” against them and Western interests.
Newsmax urges you to participate in this vital discussion, adding that it will provide “invaluable information to concerned citizens, global investors, and those who want to know first.”
