This guy sees three good things:

1. Americans are pulling out of debt.

2. Exports are surging.

3. There is hope the current budget talks will focus on the 10-ton elephant in our national living room: Medicare.

The article reads to me as if the editor said, come up with something optimistic to tell our beleaguered readers. But, hey, my fingers are crossed.
