I get a return engagement on the Journal of College and University Law

Dear James:

As President of NACUA it is my pleasure to appoint members who have volunteered to serve on the committees that form the core of our Association. I am writing to invite you to serve on the Editorial Board for the Journal of College and University Law (JCUL).

While I very much hope that you will accept this invitation, I encourage you to be realistic about your ability to participate effectively, in terms of your own time and resources. The Editorial Board generally conducts its business via conference calls scheduled 3-4 during the year, so no travel expenses are involved in participation on the Editorial Board.

The Editorial Board has overall responsibility for monitoring the quality and direction of The Journal of College and University Law, including suggestion of topics and authors for Journal articles. Editorial Board members may occasionally be asked to volunteer to review individual articles or to contribute book reviews or other pieces for publication.

The Editorial Board this year will be chaired by Mary Ann Connell of the law firm Mayo, Mallette in Oxford, MS.; and the Vice Chair is Professor Michael Olivas of the University of Houston Law Center. Karl Brevitz, Director of Legal Resources, and Josh Dermott, Assistant Director for Legal Resources-Information are the staff liaisons, and they will provide the Editorial Board (and you) with assistance, direction, and other support. The Editorial Board will convene in September or early October by conference call so that you can become familiar with the plan for the year.

If you have any questions or concerns about serving on the Editorial Board, please let me know. In addition, Karl Brevitz or Josh Dermott would also be happy to speak with you. Please send an e-mail to Karl at kfb@nacua.org no later than Friday, August 12 to let us know whether or not you accept this invitation.

Thank you for your interest and active engagement with NACUA. Our organization relies on the volunteer efforts of dedicated individuals like you to provide the wide range of valuable services for which NACUA is known. I look forward to working with you during the coming year.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Alger
President
