We have become a nation of voyeurs and gossips.

The inadvertent release of UVA Law School students' private academic info last week is a case on point.

So too is a story I saw on AOL about a fiery auto crash.  Apparently, observers videoed the agonizing deaths in the burning car with their phones, rather than trying to help.

I feel for the UVA administrator who made the awful blunder.  And I feel even more sadness for the families of the victims of that car crash, which no doubt is fodder for the sensation hogs on YouTube.
