Terrorists are slaughtering and enslaving women and children in Nigeria.

So what are the top stories in American media this morning?

No. 1 - Monica Lewinsky is 40 and trying to put the infamous blow job behind her.  Yeh, right!

No. 2 - The Clipper racist owner's wife will take possession of the team.

What a country!!!

And so I make this comment more in sorrow than in anger.

Look at the picture posted here.  A century ago, the fight for social justice was gaining momentum in America.  The climax was the American half-century following WWII, when we were the greatest middle class in world history... when Americans went to the moon and manufactured wonders we sold to the world... when we stood for freedom against totalitarianism... when we brought civl rights and civil liberties almost literally to every citizen.

The century ended ominously with Clinton being blown and impeached.  Much more was blown than just Bubba. The new century began with the destruction of the World Trade Center, to be followed by the costly (in lives, treasure and civil liberties) War on Terror and the Great Recession.

But this morning Monica Lewinsky is on the cover of Vanity Fair and the "Today Show."

MISTA for America.
