Would you rather go to church or jail?

That's a question one character asks another in the film "Fried Green Tomatoes."

When my daughter, then just a tyke, heard that question, her unhesitating reply was "Jail."  My wife and I knew then that our efforts to entice our kids into the Episcopal Church were failing.

Now a judge has caused fact to once again emulate fiction by giving this choice to a drunk driver:

If the lad fails to follow through with the church-going, his  next stop will be prison.
