Classified research booms on campuses since 9/11

Chronicle reports that schools such as MIT are big players.  Meanwhile the 9/11 attacks blunted students' propensity to protest secret research.

The thesis of my 2009 book, Al Qaeda Goes to College: Impact of the War on Terror on American Higher Education, is that higher education realized many more gains than losses from the War on Terror.
