7:30 AM, EST... and we're still here

So the end of the Mayan calendar apparently didn't mean the end of the world after all.  My best guess: the high priest's budget ran out and the carvers were all laid off.  "Laid off" in those days may have meant sacrificed to the gods.  No unemployment comp, I'll bet.

Meanwhile, some schools in Michigan shut down two days early in part because people were getting hinky about the Mayan thing.
