Camp Obama

James --

Have you heard of Camp Obama yet? I hadn't either -- before I went to one in 2007 and it changed my life.

No, it's not summer camp. It's actually a day-long organizer boot camp just for supporters like you, and we're holding them all across Pennsylvania later this month.

There's one coming up in Philadelphia this Saturday, May 19th -- sign up here if you'd like to learn more.

I can guarantee that you'll meet some cool people and learn a lot. Or, it could change the course of your life -- it did for me.

Back in the summer of 2007, while I was working at an actual summer camp, I heard a story about Camp Obama on the radio -- and I thought to myself, why not? I knew nothing about organizing or working on a campaign, but I was curious to see what it was all about, so I signed up for one right away.

Turns out, it was the best decision I've ever made. I spent two days with supporters from all over the country, getting a real window into the campaign's strategy to win and what it means to be an organizer. By the end, I felt like I knew enough to hit the ground running the very next day.

And that's exactly what I did: I went home, packed my truck, and drove to Iowa to start organizing for Barack Obama. Now, four years later, I'm the general election director here in Pennsylvania -- and one of my favorite things about this job is seeing other people get hooked on organizing just like I did.

That's part of what's so great about Camp Obama. You can just come for the day to check it out -- or you might end up finding your calling.

What've you got to lose? Let us know if you're interested in joining us in Philadelphia on Saturday:
