NE Association of Criminal Justice Sciences: a call for papers

On behalf of the Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice Sciences, I would like to take this opportunity to invite submissions for the 2012 NEACJS Annual Meeting, to be held at Roger Williams University in Portsmouth, Rhode Island on June 6-9, 2012.

This year’s conference theme is “Intellectuals or Entrepreneurs?  Criminal Justice Education and Practice in the 21st Century.”  We have an interesting program planned, with several presentations and workshops examining entrepreneurial approaches to academics and the practice of criminal justice.  We are particularly excited about the NEACJS Town Hall meeting we have scheduled.  Attendees will have an opportunity to raise issues drawn from the conference theme and other issues important to the field for discussion in an open forum.  You’ll be hearing more about this in a later mailing.  We are also planning panels in which students and practitioners can learn more about the benefits of graduate/doctoral study and the opportunities available for both in the region.  In short, the conference will have something to offer to everyone.

You will find the call for papers, abstract submission form and hotel reservation information attached to this email.  Papers, panels and posters dealing with all aspects of Criminal Justice are requested.  Graduate and undergraduate papers and panels are encouraged, as are presentations by our colleagues working in the field.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in June!
