Widener University law suit settled

Widener U. and Professor Who Clashed With Dean Settle Defamation Suit

A Widener University law professor, who clashed with administrators over hypothetical references he made in classroom discussions about the law school's dean being shot at, has settled his defamation lawsuit against the university and the law-school dean.
Lawrence J. Connell, who was a tenured associate professor of law and had been suspended, accused Linda L. Ammons, dean of the School of Law, of defaming him during an administrative proceeding in an effort to have him fired.
