Personally, I think Santorum as the GOP candidate would be good news for Obama

                                 Dear James Ottavio,Defeat Rick Santorum!
He’s back. According to the latest polls, Rick Santorum is now the leading Republican candidate for president.
At a time when we need to work together to create jobs and grow the economy, the GOP is gravitating toward a cultural warrior who has devoted his entire career to advancing an extreme social agenda.
It’s incredible. Santorum went on television and declared that birth control is “harmful to women” and said, “I don’t think it works.” The guy likened homosexuality to bestiality, and criticized women for working outside the home even when two incomes are needed to pay the bills.
Thanks to the work of folks like you, we defeated Rick Santorum soundly in 2006 – and we need your help this year to keep Pennsylvania blue. By making a contribution today, you can help fund our massive effort to turn out critical Democratic constituencies and reach out to persuadable voters so we can send Rick Santorum and his cohorts packing once again.

Make a contribution to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party today so we have the resources to defeat the Republican presidential nominee and re-elect President Obama and Senator Casey.
The truth is that this isn’t just about the presidential race. Even in our Senate contest, we are looking at a couple of big-time Santorum backers. There are at least two self-funders who are running against Bob Casey. Combined, they’ve already put in $6 million of their own money into this race. Tom Smith financially backed Santorum’s 2006 campaign against Bob Casey, and Steve Welch has recruited Santorum’s campaign team, including his top strategist, to run his Senate race this year.
And just like Rick Santorum, both of these guys are running far to the right in order to appeal to the Tea Party and the most extreme elements of the Republican primary electorate.
We need to defeat this entire ticket in November. It’s time to turn the page on the divisive politics of the past and instead work to re-elect Bob Casey and President Obama so we can grow the economy and put Pennsylvania to work.

Thanks for all your help,
