FDD seeks fellowship applicants (This was one of the great experiences of my life)

Dear Former FDD Academic Fellow:

It’s that time of year again and FDD is recruiting for the 2012 Academic Fellows program in Israel.

As in past years, the program aims to provide university professors with a detailed understanding of the terror threat that faces our nation and sister democracies and is centered on a 10-day course taught in conjunction with Tel Aviv University. Participants will interact with academics, diplomats, military and intelligence officials, and politicians from Israel and other countries, and will visit military bases, border zones and other security installations to learn the practical side of fighting terrorism. The program runs May 27th to June 6th (travel inclusive) and all expenses are paid by FDD. More information is available here.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are involved with national security studies, Middle East studies, or a related discipline, and that they will be able to make use of what they learn during the trip. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2012.

Would you be kind enough to pass this note along to interested colleagues? Given all that is going on in the region it should be a uniquely informative trip.

Thank you very much.

Best,

Dave Silverstein
